God Loves You!

Ephesians 2:4-5 – “But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)”

Many years ago in Paris a young women overheard her sisters laughing and asked the cause of their laughter. “Oh, there’s a strange fellow come over from Great Britain, preaching what he calls, ‘the Gospel,'” they replied. “While he rants away in English, one of the French pastors interprets for him. It’s just ridiculous, but everyone is talking about it, so we’re going to hear him.” After they left, she also felt an urge to attend the meeting. Arriving late, she found that the only vacant seat was in the front row. As the hymns were sung and prayers were offered, her soul was deeply moved. Coming to the platform the young preacher seemed to look directly into her face and began speaking.

In the course of the message, these words were repeated and they struck like an arrow of conviction into her heart: “Poor sinner, God loves you!” “As he preached the Gospel, it seemed my whole life passed before me,”she said. “It was a loveless, Christian existence. Those words kept ringing in my ears, ‘Poor sinner, God loves you!’ When I reached home, I knelt by my bed, tears streaming from my eyes. I cried, ‘O Lord, You love me; yet I have never loved You in return, but now I take you at your word. I cast my weary soul upon You as my Savior.'” She arose a different woman, born again and rejoicing in her newfound faith in Christ.
