COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Response (March 17)

Updated March 17, 2020

Dear Church Family,

First of all, I want to express my deep appreciation to you during this very challenging time in the life of our Nation and World. It is encouraging and heartening to see so many of you living out your faith in real-time!

As a result of the Coronavirus, we as a church are experiencing issues we would never have anticipated only a few short weeks ago. We have already made decisions that became outdated only the next day due to announcements from our Governor (or President).

Many of you have seen the constant updates with the words “flatten the curve” involved. Of course, you can Google that for yourself, but the main idea is that we need to see infections begin to flatline. Ultimately, the infections will start to go down, and we can start to pull out of this crisis.

As you know, many businesses have either closed or have cut hours drastically to limit contact between employees and customers.

While this whole thing “goes against the grain” of what we as a church are all about, we believe it is time to be good neighbors in our community.

Here is an important reminder: The CHURCH is the PEOPLE! The building is a BUILDING where the Church usually meets! For now, we’re just going to do things a bit differently.

With this in mind, we are going to take the following course of action:

  1. Effective immediately, we will be updating our office hours to Mondays only from 9:00-2:00.
  2. Please note that we will have someone available for you should you call…..Mary at (843) 729-5408, Pastor Frank (631) 786-5674, Pastor Howard (843) 834-3771, Pastor Bobby (843) 824-6002. Another way to get in touch with someone is to be sure you join our church Facebook page at Grace Chapel of Ladson After Hours. You can request to join, and one of the administrators of that site will see it. We will do our best to respond ASAP.
  3. After much counsel and prayer we have decided to cancel all of our services and activities on site and functions until April 5th. We will then evaluate the situation at that time to determine future plans. This was a hard decision to make as we believe we are to live by faith and not fear. We also need to be wise in our decisions. We do not want to put anyone in an uncomfortable position. We are to obey the laws and recommendation of our government and we will because we want to be a testimony to the saved and the unsaved.
  4. We will do our best to Live-stream services even if it consists of a few members of the worship team and a message by the Pastor. You may visit our website at www.gracechapelladson.com or Grace Chapel of Ladson After Hours Facebook page to view the broadcasts. Please be sure to say “hello” in the comments area and share, share, share! People will be thirsty for God during this time. We will try to be up and running by next Sunday.
  5. We are going to be doing our best to explore ways we as a church can be a blessing in ministry to our community during this time. We don’t just want to “hide out” but find safe and effective avenues to minister to others. If you have any ideas, don’t hesitate to let us know.

Please check the website regularly for up-to-date information.

I want to leave you with a bit of encouragement….we are going to come THROUGH this! We will have a greater victory on the other side! It’s time to pray and seek God for comfort and strength. Use wisdom, stay safe, and be a good neighbor!

Isaiah 26:3 “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”

We love and appreciate you,
Pastor Bobby and Leadership
